Gym Skills

Gym Skills aim to create a fun and exciting environment for gymnasts to gain both general movement skills as well as gymnastics specific skills. It offers classes aimed at improving the skills of gymnasts with a recreational focus and a gymnast centred approach to coaching. Providing a structure that gives gymnasts more diversity in their opportunities and allows gymnasts to learn more of the skills that they want to learn.

Gym Skills aim to give the gymnasts a class that will make them want to stick with the sport and continue to learn, gaining not only gymnastics skills and abilities, but also movement skills for life. This is guided by the 4 “Gymnastics for All” (GfA) philosophies published by Gymnastics Australia: fun, fitness, fundamentals and friendship.

Gym Skills program offers a huge variety of skills and opportunities for gymnasts, rather than being limited to just a single specific gymsport (eg. WAG, Women’s Artistic Gymnastics). This includes skills from WAG, MAG, ACRO, Trampolining, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Aerobics, Cheerleading and other emerging sports such as TeamGym and FreeG. This broad variety could see your daughter learning ribbon and ball skills one session, aerial skills the next, and developing strength and coordination throughout, using a plethora of gymnastics equipment and experiences.
